Introduction
The Brisbane Institute is an independent organisation that provides opportunities for business, government and the community to come together to share information, innovative ideas and solutions to contemporary issues.
Members and sponsors of The Brisbane Institute are drawn from the best and brightest across business, industry, government and on-government bodies, and the local community. All share a commitment to The Brisbane Institute’s goal of promoting bright ideas for Brisbane.
Since its inception in 1998, The Brisbane Institute has been funded by the generous support of state and local government, business, and universities. This collaborative arrangement allows The Brisbane Institute to remain an independent, non-partisan body.
The Brisbane Institute stages a regular round of stimulating events featuring an impressive range of expert presenters. The regular program features:
- public seminars where speakers address issues of local, national and international relevance
- special functions that provide opportunities to bring motivated business people together
- exceptional forums tailored to the needs and interests of government bodies and industry leaders.
The Brisbane Institute also works in partnership with other organisations to stage some special events.
Its slogan, ‘Bright Ideas for Brisbane’, reflects the organisation’s role in generating and influencing the policies that impact the present and shape our future. One of The Brisbane Institute’s strengths is its ability to conduct useful and significant research to drive positive outcomes for the citizens of Brisbane and the broader community.
